Gulf Breeze AC Refrigerant Refill
You may know that your AC depends on a refrigerant to function. However, you may not realize that an AC’s refrigerant line is a closed one. That means it’s not normal for refrigerant to escape from an AC. If it does, your AC has a leak that requires a trained technician’s attention. In some cases, though, paying to find and fix a refrigerant leak is a poor investment. For example, if your AC is over 10 years old and develops a minor leak, a repair is not recommended. In that case, we can provide a Freon recharge to keep your AC running while you shop for a replacement.
Some signs that you may need our low Freon AC service include the following:
- Warm air from vents
- Hissing or gurgling sounds
- Inexplicably rising energy bills
- Ice or frost on refrigerant lines
- Extended AC runtimes
You may need our low freon AC service after a repair, too. Any time you need repairs to your AC’s compressor or refrigerant lines, your AC will need a Freon recharge. Failure to keep your AC’s refrigerant at the proper level will lead to subsequent part failures. Compressor damage is a likely result of running for too long with low refrigerant. That’s because AC refrigerants also have lubricants that your compressor needs to prevent overheating. Low refrigerant may even cause your AC’s evaporator coil to ice up. That can block airflow through the system and cause overheating.
